Guitar Tone Competition Final Showdown!

Mark, thanks for taking the time to do this. Also to the guys that provided the tracks used.



No offence to anyone but I don't think any of the tones are really near what would be used on a pro recording. There is something a little bit off about all of them, in some way. They are either (or a combination of) honky, fizzy, or dark in different proportions.

I think everbody is capable of better tones than these also.

Congrats! After listening to the clips again I think you definitely deserved to win.

If anybody cares, mine was TSS -> 8505 sim -> s-pres8 impulse -> Some EQing in CurveEQ. I also split the signal and snet it out to the Framus V30 impulse one after the same signal chain.

ActofVengence - Any chance of sharing yours?

No Prob man it was saffire pro 26 -> original reamp box -> od 808 -> Mesa Dual Rec -> Mesa OS 4x12 -> sm57 -> saffire pro 26 guitars were run through hi and low pass filters

I think if this was a mixing or overall production competition the results would be a very different.
