I vote I  the self played one as well. Not because it's self played either, but its got a smoother tone with a bit more bark. A lot of the others sounded very unbalanced to me.

I think it should be a poll thread only, without comments, because if 5-6 people start to say that X and Y are awesome and than the others suck, the other people would be tempted to listen/like only those 2 clips (placebo fx) and vote them

Here I was thinking the sneap forum members weren't mindless drones slaving for the system.

Yup, I mentioned this as well, and I feel that may be the reason it's winning; honestly, I'm kinda tempted to suggest disqualification for not following the rules...

Didn't follow the rules how?

By "mastering" it too hot (no way G is -13 RMS), louder stuff always instinctively sounds better

Unfortunately we set -13 RMS as a guideline, not really as a rule. I did edit all the tracks to peak at -13 db RMS to keep things semi in check, but I agree he/she put the guitars in the mix far louder than the drums.

No "rules" were broken though.

Don't wanna be nasty but the drums also sound louder in G, or am I wrong?

And actually, now that I listen to mine (which will not be disclosed, of course ;)) compared to a bunch of these, it's loud as hell, so I guess I'm not one to talk  (I made sure to have it at -13 RMS though!)

Alright, let me repeat myself.

I made absolutely sure all the posted clips PEAK at -13 DB. Their averages may be different, but at no time does any clip exceed -13DB. Guitars may be percieved as louder because the drums were lower in the mix, or guitars may be perceived as louder because they were compressed significantly, or guitars may be perceived louder due to more high end in the EQing.

All clips peak at -13 DB, so no clip is louder than another. Guitars may be louder in a mix, but it still won't exceed - 13 DB. I know this, because my ears are bleeding from adjusting all the volumes. Some of you people sent me clips averaging -8 db peaking at -2...I adjusted all volumes to be -13 db peaked.
