so far:

ruun
malval
diadem of 12 stars
ashes against the grain

please leave my experimenting be you fools...you have ruined it...i just simply wanted to see how he would react people whining on his opinions... the only reason he chose paatos was surely because it´s an unknown band band that rescently caught his intrest and felt the need to write it up here...not because it is the best album of the year but because no one knows of it and he will come of as... i dont know, cool or something :D... now be silent, most of you post unknown bands just because they cant be argued

Actually I might add Ashes Against the Grain as well since I love Agalloch, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't officially come out until August and I haven't downloaded it yet so I don't know if it's good enough.

I wasn't too impressed by Silence of Another Kind either, especially on the long run. Their previous albums far surpassed this one IMO.

actually the reason i chose it is because ive been a LONG time paatos fan, and enjoyed this record very much. nor am i the only paatos fan here, i dont know why you insisted on this public display of stupidity with these silly machinations. several of the other records i listed are FAR more obscure than the paatos album anyway. get a clue, grow up.

Meh, the Paatos is quite nice - I don't know any of the other records. I have to second the love for the new Keep of Kalessin, it's the kind of metal that makes it really hard for me to sit still.

As far as disappointments go, The Dev figures there too - I don't like the new SYL album that much, it is nothing compared with Alien.

After hearing Cult I am not even going to bother being disappointed by Slayer when they finally crap their record out.

best albums so far this year: Katatonia TGCD, Enslaved Ruun,
biggest disappointment: Ghost Reveries and 10,000 Days (Tool)

don't really see how you could be disappointed in 10,000 days. I mean what more would you expect from a Tool album really?

and Ghost reveries was released in 2005 btw..

My number one is currently Enslaved with RUUN. I was just blown away when I first heard the album through. All the songs are great.

"Fusion of sense and earth!":loco:

Fuck yeah! RUUN will be the best release of 2006 in my opinion.

I'm surprised and shocked. No love for "Blood in our Wells"--Drudkh. Their music really communicates something to me, I don't know, fuckin' amazing. RUNN--Enslaved, these guys are just brilliant musicians and songwriters. Devin-Synchestra, saw him in February, IMO one of the most talented musicians working today. Wolves in the Throne Room--12 Stars of the Diadem, to me crushing Black Metal, a daunting listen which I am still absorbing. Waiting for August 8 so I can get my copy of Ashes against the Grain.

Okay Let s see :

Tool 10000 Days

Red Hot Chili Peppers Stadium Arcadium

Cannibal Corpse Kill ( riff o rama all the way !!)

Celtic Frost Monotheist ( These guys must be quite deranged to produce such dark and evil music and the production by Peter Tagtren is massive)

The recent Steely Dan tribute with Vinnie Colaiuta behind the Tony Williams drumkit.

Linear Sphere : Reality Dysfunction the Vocals are shit but the playing is quite amazing if you dig self indulgent music only.

but the Gem of the year for me is a DVD

Whitesnake : In The Still Of The Night
Oh MY GOd : This how Hard rock blues metal is done ! What a killer show by music veterans : Reb Beach ( Winger Bitches !!!), Doug Aldrich, Coverdale, Tommy Aldrige (what this guy is doing at his age is a mystery to me !) are in tip top form !
I bet Mikael has already Od'ed on this Dvd !
Their cover of Burn is killer !

High Hopes for :

Mastodon : Blood Mountain
Muse : Black Holes and Revelations
Porcupine Tree DVD (Yes !)
Trivium : Sue Me !!!
Justin Timberlake ( Rick Rubin in Da House !)
Xstina Aguilera ( 20's jazz horns samples with hip hop grooves, killer pipes : I am in !)
