I thought this was an open forum for open discussion of metal?
Correct. Although shitty gay whiny fagcore =/= metal.

funny how I called him out on this shit in another thread and people got on my case for it. and now you all see what I saw I guess!
Get off this forum Nick!
You're confusing high quality with brutality. I personally think some hardcore/deathcore/metalcore is much heavier than most metal, but it doesn't make it good.
Practically all old school DM all sounds the same to me I don't even waste my fucking time with it and niether should you.
Deathcore isn't that much different than Death Metal, it's just supposed to be a mix of hard core and death metal which is cool as hell because Hard core is good as fuck and so is death metal.
Well if all he's ever heard is albums of metal and never seen any bands live then who is he going to think is more "brutal"? Someone actually has to define brutality in metal for anyone to have an actual discussion about what is or is not more brutal. Because ask any scene kid and you're going to hear that Whitechapel and Suicide Silence are insanely brutal and ask one of you and you're going to hear some death/black/grind/power/obscure genre metal bands that are super brutal. Until it actually has a definition then everyone is just going by their tastes. I don't like deathcore more than death metal but IMHO I believe they make a lot more sound and sound a lot more crazy than a lot of death metal bands who are just some guy doing cookie monster vocals and then ass loads of chugs and riffs. Listen to pitbulls in the nursery (gay name good band) or FGA/HoP or benighted or gojira and those are more brutal than any scene band, but immolation isn't more brutal than most deathcore, but I haven't seen them live so I guess I don't really know. From what I've heard Immolation is less brutal. I like them they just aren't as brutal. France has a good death metal scene.
