HEATHEN CRUSADE PART 2 !! List bands that should appear

what i mean is ... the cheap hotel prices in MN for HC ... were offset by the travel expenses that the Euro bands had to make from NY ...

you know, JFK being the hub coming in from Europe :loco:

Yeah, you're right more or less. I just checked Expedia for October 20 - 22 timeframe for Gothenburg -> USA.

A 3 star hotel in NY will cost you $250 - $300 per night average. Flight to JFK is $500, so that TOTALS $800.

The same hotel in MN will cost you $150 per night, and the flight is $800. That TOTALS $950.

So of course people would be sharing rooms, but there is no doubt that the cheaper travel to NY offsets the accomodation.

And like I said earlier, people will drive from surrounding states which themselves are heavilly populated.

MN on the other hand is surrounded by Iowa, Wisconsin, South Dakota, and North Dakota.

I'm telling you though, NJ is the best bet. You will have many people coming in from PA, NJ, CT, DC etc, and you're giving them *ample parking space*, no tunnel/bridge costs, and cheap hotels.

A 3 star hotel in NY will cost you $250 - $300 per night average.

that is if we book them in Manhattan ... boroughs or NJ are not more then $100-$150 a night ... you can get a decent Best Western for that easily.

I really have no opposition to NJ ... I am just not familiar with it or what venues it has ...

do you guys?

i know that ... but so far all i heard was about the Starland ... what other 1000-1500 capacity venues are there that are not totally in the boonies?

Stone Pony?

The funny part is...people in Manhattan think the outer boroughs are "the boonies." People who live in the outer boroughs think, like, Edison, NJ is "the boonies" (it's 11 miles from Staten Island, btw, if that). People in NJ think "upstate" New York is Scarsdale.

I tell ya...

We did not break even sorry to say.

please not have it in the middle of FREAKIN january next time. Many people I know, as well as myself, were not able to go because it was the most inconvenient timing EVER.

Not entire sure, but it definitely holds 1000+

Has a good sound system, multiple bars, food, a decent backstage area, LOADS of parking, is adjacent to CHEAP hotels, and is a very well-known name

Also, the Asbury Convention Center, holds at least 2500-3000, both seated and GA floor. Right nearby the Pony.

What the fuck is with these hotel costs? The northeast must be hella expensive. When I drove across the country this summer, we stayed at very nice hotels for 60-80 bucks a night for three people. Mostly in the Midwest, Virginia and surrounding area and the South. $300 a night? Who the fuck would pay that?

I wish a decent fest like this would be held in Colorado. It's way more grim and true here anyway.:D Minnesota, pfffft.

Graveland. Fuckin' Graveland.

I could only fucking imagine Rob Darken running around with a sword and a helm. Not to mention, the wooden tub with the whores on stage. That shit is for entertainment purposes only. Has that fucker even done anything live before? He has fill-in musicians or do they pick on him too much? :tickled:

i think he does everything himself these days... though he apparently has real drums on the forthcoming one, so i guess that's capricornus (who, judging by the demos, has improved a LOT and isn't even untight anymore!)

With tastes like mine, I SHOULD have been at Heathen Crusade. If I hadn't seen Primordial already, or if I listened to my Moonsorrow albums more than a few times a year...

Bah. Primordial needs to be there next time too. Did I not say that Nemtheanga was ONE HELL of a frontman?
