Anyway, Teachings in Silence EPs are the best Ulver material. I don't see how anyone could really, really love Blood Inside. It's too hard to make sense out of.

dont argue with it nick. the album sucks massive balls. even if you are into electronica. although i can't really remember much of it, for some reason, im recalling bad christmas-like melodies synth'd and manipulated into god-awful electronica.

There's so many fucking layers of strange music that shouldn't exist, put over layers of other strange music that shouldn't exist, and it turns into the wonderous mass of WTF. I'm actually surprised (life sucks) you don't like the bleak atmosphere and chord progressions used in opeth. Have you heard 'My Arms, Your Hearse' ?. If not listen to the songs April Ethereal,The Amen Corner,Demon of The Fall & Karma. Say if opeth does have a clean line that has to do with relationships the bands still has all kinds of lyrics ranging from the wilderness to the devil. Mikael even has a song about killing a women or something along those line. It's not just about relationships or some specific thing. You probably heard a lot and your stance is not going to change. Just thought i'd mention something since we both have a lot of commen interests in music.

What opeth do you not like older or newer ?. or just simply both(not sure what you've heard).
