Thanks...that's what I was confused about because In Flames isn't a Melodic Death-metal band, they used to be but just like Metallica isn't a thrash band anymore..both evolved into something different, for example In Flames new cd has nothing to do with death-metal except for Melodies, everyone will probably say why put in a band in a specific genre..for me it's simple if you talk to anybody that's new to metal they will say In Flames is melodeath an they are wrong...In Flames is more metalcorish and alternative yet they made still have a trace of melodic DM..but it's only a trickle
 
Yeah, actually. Good call. That's the best name I've seen for this new genre.

I would say that In Flames, Soilwork, Scar Symmetry, etc now fall into that.
 
Melodeath is a blatantly misleading term but is used purely due to its overwhelmingly familiarity and association with the music that the term designates (e.g. Children Of Bodom, In Flames, Norther, et al).
