the new Anathema album "A Natural Disaster" is fantastic I was just wondering if anyones managed to have a sneak hear... Those who need constaint heavy guitars wont like it but if you like your melodies raw and real then you'll want to get this...

Oh come on.. that's just pathetic. If they don't play music you like, does it mean immediately that they're sell-outs? I'm glad they try new things and keep progressing. And if they really wanted to sell more albums (with -as you said- radiohead songs) why would they put a song like 'pulled under...' on the album? I've listened to a natural disaster for a few times now, and while it ain't yet a 5 out of 5 album for me, it's pretty damn close and maybe more spins will get it there. I don't hear any forced commercialism there.damond said:they try to sell more cd's by playing music that doesn't suit them.
They're on the album called Judgement.where are songs like "deep","forgotten hopes","make it right","judgement","anyone, anywhere","one last goodbye"???????????

But A Natural Disaster is a masterpiece in it's own right. I love everything about it!!!
Just listen to "Flying" you will find what Anathema is all about within that one track I think
If the "trial song" you refer to is Are You There?, that's Danny singing. My opinions on A Natural Disaster are still mixed, although I do think it is often highly creative and ethereal in nature.yv said:definitely. as for me at least.
even if the trial song causes mixed feelings. especially concerning Vinnie's vocals, like he doesn't want to articulate a word.. :|
but i had the same with "fine day.." and now i just love this album.
