I'd get drunk and watch his videos just for a good laugh. He's really not very smart and there was one video he like nonchalantly brags about killing Euronymous.... that's where I was like fuck this guy. You stabbed a small dude (who wears crop tops btw!) in the back multiple times. How are you proud of that? I hope his kids grow up and see him for who he is. So yeah, I drunkenly got mad and never watched his videos again. Didn't realize they are now banned or something.

i always liked varg's youtube channel. he's a funny charismatic guy, good storyteller etc. obviously he says a lot of stupid shit and the idiots who take him seriously and parrot his beliefs are offputting, but i've had fun with his vids over the years.

ive got a few of his books on European polytheism and some of it is pretty cool takes but most of it is ridiculous ramblings from some troll in the woods

I Love Melodic Death Metal but that is def different than just Death Metal. I like maybe 4 or 5 Death Metal bands and the rest is just meh, especially the ones with retarded band names. So many retarded band names in the Death Metal Genre.

A lot of newer tech death bands follow a heavy old school melodeath route (first two AtG records and early Dark Tranquillity.)
Dunno if you like really fucked up bizarre metal, but Lykathea Aflame take Brutal Death Metal to crazy heights with their New Age and Progressive Jazz influenced sound. Its like being beaten to death over the head with positivity. Them Czechs are weird, yo.

I'm by no means like a lot of people here, but I know a fuckton of weird/cool shit that might change your mind.

CiG's no slouch either, yo. He's taught me a lot of stuff I know today about metal for almost a decade now. I've just gone off and followed my own opinionated path on things too. Despite whatever shit y'all argue about, he's one I'd trust most opinion on more Death Metal side of things.

And maybe you just haven't found the shit thats in your lane, either. If you like Melodeath, by god there's a whole slew of killer Alf Svensson inspired acts that blow all the polished turds out there.
