It's illegal to carry anything in Public in the UK that could constitute an "offensive weapon" - meaning "anything intended or adapted to cause harm to another", without reasonable excuse. This does not include self defence reasons. You can have any (non) firearms weapon you like in your own home. The UK law says simply that self defence must be "reasonable" in all cases, and that what is reasonable shall be decided by a "reasonable third person or jury".

However, since most of the public here is fucking pig sick of being robbed, beaten and abused, "reasonable" is increasingly resembling "give the criminal a fucking good beating", which personally I consider to be progress.

but didnt they make it really hard to get swords?

I think a sword is a little harder to conceal than a knife or a gun. if you see someone with a sword down their pants as they walk towards you i think you'll run away. unless you're a girl... or dave... then you might get a little turned on.

I saw a video last year of some people who had given a chav who was threatening to beat them up a line of Ketamine. Sorted him right out. :heh:

Oh, really? Do you think a sword is harder to conceal than a knife? How ever did you come to this conclusion? How can I subscribe to your newsletter?

There are such things as retractable swords, the quality will undoubtedly be worse than that of a normal sword but still :D

EDIT: Cane swords work too.
