Well- that is dependant. But I understand your point. I was trying to point out that I was trying a wee bit too hard!

One can be in a 'snap shot' thus implying that the shot is spontaneous or unplanned or one can be in a 'portrait photo' (if that is a valid term), which is going to be the case with most photos here- which are planned and yes, the words "strike a pose!" come in to mind.
