That was only his second goal in over 300 games for them.
that makes him the all time scoring leader, right?
for the last 3 or 4 days, 24 hours a day, ESPN Classic has been replaying full games from legendary playoff series... so far i've watched the '83 semifinals of George Gervin and Artis Gilmore's Spurs versus Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul Jabar's Lakers, i've watched the '94 2nd-round Denver v. Seattle game where Dikembe Mutumbo set the record for blocked shots in a 5-game playoff series (32 or 33 i think it was, including 8 in each of the final games, an
astonishing number), and i've watched LARRY FUCKING BIRD play MICHAEL FUCKING JORDAN, never mind who the fuck else was on the court... and now they're playing back to back early-90s Chicago Bulls games, each so far having featured one of Jordan's "legendary" clutch shots (the switch hands layup in the air, the left-in-the-dust past Ehlo with 3 seconds left, etc.)...
...basketball owns all other sports + all of you.
personally, the idea of that a team
must score, they are down by 1 with 3 seconds left and they absolutely HAVE TO SCORE in the next 3 seconds or else they LOSE, no second chances, no stoppage faggotry, we have THREE SECONDS to put the ball in the hoop or else our entire season is over and we fucking lose... that's much more exiting than waiting around for an hour to see if the team
might actually score this time or if the obscenely long game clock is just going to run out... give me a situation in the entire history of soccer that's as exiting as Steve Kerr hitting
four 3-pointers in about 2 minutes in the western conference finals to bring San Antonio back from a 12 point Dallas lead and take us to the Finals...
(we won the championship that year, BTW, and it was the greatest thing ever, besides when we won in '99...)
(ummm... teh basket pwns...)
