What are the gun laws like outside the U.S.? I've heard/read little besides that they're almost universally tighter - i.e. you can only have one as part of a hunting club, or it can't leave your home, or you have to have served in the military first. Just curious.

The rules vary state by state - the hunting club and military thing isn't right though. Anyone that passes the background checks can get one.

I don't know the specifics here, but to casually own one is basically totally illegal, unless you have some sort of registration to use it only at a club or whatever.

Hasn't stopped lots of black people shooting each other in London though.
