Well, that's a perk for advertisers (which fund the server fees of course). It's a standard placement to maximize the location for advertisers (check any big site you'll see what I mean).

Not resize... but change the location of the ad bar to appear under the UM logo. The new logo's design is almost BEGGING to be aligned up against the wall. Test it out.. I'm sure it'll look great that way.

Also, could we maybe have the button menu with User CP, Quick Links, etc. appear where it used to, instead of mashed in between the home page link and those mainspace buttons that have no relevance to the forums? I'd rather not have to dodge so many buttons leading outside the forum.

In the interest of not sounding like a nag, I do like the added textures at the top, and on each post's subject line. The old layout was lacking in texture.

Oh... so they are. Still, none of those are things I'd really click on regularly, unlike the other buttons, so I can't really agree with the emphasis on the links/classified/etc. set over the user/quicklinks/etc. set.
