I'd fucking LOVE to see the habs atleast make it to the finals this year.

I haven’t been able to watch much NHL this year because of the hours I work, I can only watch on weekends basically if I even do that. There was a NHL playoff pool at work where you’d just pick the winners so I made these predictions:
- Detroit would beat Nashville pretty easily. Not because I think Detroit is that good, more so because I completely wrote of Nashville.
- I thought San Jose would beat Calgary in six games. Is Calgary still winning though?
- I predicted Colorado would beat Minnesota in about 6 games. I thought it would be a close series but Colorado would look impressive. I couldn’t see Minnesota really posing a threat in the playoffs.
- I picked Anaheim to beat Dallas. Not a series I care about though.
- I thought Montreal would beat Boston in 6 games, in a close one.
- I completely wrote off Ottawa weeks before the playoffs, and picked Pittsburgh in 5 games. I just found it hilarious that Ottawa’s coach was pretending to be so calm, even though his team was playing awful going into playoffs, nevermind against Pittsburgh from what I hear.
- I thought this was the hardest one to choose but I picked Washington in 7 games.
- Even though I’m a Devils fan, I picked the Rangers because I thought their Goaltender would be the factor in this series.
As for my other predictions..
Colorado would play Detroit and I think either team would take it, but I sided with Detroit.
San Jose would then beat Anaheim, and San Jose would then kick Detroit’s ass.
I picked the Rangers for an upset over Montreal...have to at least pick some upsets.
And of course Pittsburgh to beat Washington.
Then I guess it would be tough but maybe I’d pick the Penguins.
And initially I picked San Jose to win the cup.

Montreal/Carey Price just completely fell apart.

The Bruins hold off elimination and beat the Habs on the road. This has been a great-great series with both teams playing thier guts out. Every team raises thier level of play during the playoffs, but the B's have raised it more than any other team. That level has allowed them to hang on and stay with the much more talented (esp offense) Habs team that owned the B's during the season. I only hope it gets to a game-7 so the B's can atleast give themselves a chance and more so cause I'm enjoying the hell out of playoff hockey and this renewed rivalvry once again.
Edit: Yes Price did fall apart, he has been great this series but B's fans can only hope he is now crashing back to earth, sometimes rookie Goalies will do this.

As much as I hate the Habs, they do play an exciting brand of hockey, are an attractive poster team for the league and are actually more physical / tougher than I was expecting.
However, the way the B's and Habs are playing in this series they both may be able to beat the Rangers, who knows? I think if the B's are playing anyone but the Habs right now they would be up 3-2 in games instead of down. Habs fans would even admit the B's have been tougher than expected, seeing that the Habs bitch-slapped them all season.
