Old school death metal

hum...

I don't see anything strange with the production on TRITSIO except for maybe the volume being low so you have to crank it, the instruments themselves are a pretty clear, gardens of grief does have better production.

Yea the production is quite toneful really . What actually bothered me at first is the overall flow of the album and how the songs are structured, which made it sound really abrasive and fractured. Those speedy sections that appear in almost every song annoyed me a lot. They seemed random and out of place.Even now after it's fully grown on me,certain parts still don't hang well together, imo. A broken masterpiece of sorts, heh:p

Malignance: awesome pics:kickass:

It's been so long since I got into TRITSIO I don't even remember if I had trouble getting into it.

Does anybody ever get really annoyed with the song structures towards the end of WFIKtBD? The choppiness of the songs just doesn't fit, and it all around pissed me off last night. The beginning of the album is fantastic, but the last 3 songs I can't handle. This is kind of directed at Life Sucks who loves this one and what he thinks about the end of the album.

Very nice Malignance. I can't believe you have Utumno -across the horizon on cd. I have a pretty nice oldchool death metal collection also.

You should upload an Unbound Terror song with you sendit.com.

Yeah stuff like The Break of Autumn is sheer brilliance (my guitar teacher tabbed it, so I have great fun playing it too) but the album kinda whimpers out unfortunately. I think it is the result of being rushed out the door as the band was going through a major lineup change: the loss of Alf Svensson, their main songwriter up until that point.

Edit: Malginance, what is your slsk user name?

Who here regularly shells out around $50 (or more) for a used old school dm CD? The most I've ever payed for a CD was around $20.

I don't. I try not to go over 25 and have occasion went in the 30range, some people on ebay are just riduculous. I notice if you bid on a cd right off and put your high bid at 50 you have a better chance at winning and if not the other person has to pay a lot anyways so it's kinda like saying fuck you you need to pay a lot you asshole!

what the fuck is the point of buying obscure old school DM cds??

the band is likely not even around anymore, so there's no point in "supporting" them

just download it

Majority of my listening is done in my room with my stereo so I like to have cd quality,booklets,artwork,etc...

The most I've spent so far on a Death Metal album is $35, which as for Wombbath, but my most costly purchase thus far is the first Saint Vitus album for $45. I don't plan on spending more than that on one CD any time soon.

Also a lot of oldschool death metal cds get reissued so you are atleast supporting the label who has the balls to release some cd that came out 15 years ago. A label has no idea how many people are going to buy it so it's proof not everyone is out just for a quick buck and want you to hear cool underground cds that did not get the attention they deserved and might even influenced the people who have a label.

A lot of these oldschool death metal cds are ten times more interesting than the debut albums by oldschool death metal bands at the sametime who ended up getting big and all the attention.

That's true but I still prefer to have the physical form of the work complete with the album art.

I wanna know where Malignance got Miasma "Changes" from. I've been looking for that for fucking AGGEEEESSSSSS!

I got the rerelease from some distro, but I can't remember now, some thing like cddisk or something

Cheers. I'll see what I can do.

I paid $52 for Slumber Of Sullen Eyes. It worked out being about NZ$80.. I paid a similar amount for the first press of Varathron's His Majesty At the Swamp, too. What can I say, I love having originals.

The War Must Go On.

I've just bought a new HDD and I'm in the process of copying all my CDs now.

Ebay, $30. I think I was pretty lucky to get it for that price. I've seen it go for way more.

I don't know if Autumn Leaves would fit into this category, maybe too technical. check it out.

Autumn Leaves - Embraced by the absolute

is that NZD? Cause that'd be like 3 AUD wouldnt it? :p

I'll keep searching then
Ha I obtained the Napalm Records reissue of Changes along with their Love Songs EP in a local metal shop a couple of years ago. That was easy. I did not even have to order it. Lucky find.
