Recabinet ROOOOOCKS!!!!

Thanks for the suggestions! We may release the plugin as a public beta and gather further feedback, so guys will get first crack at that as soon as it's ready.

Indeed :)

anyway, a plugin version would be ace.
my only gripe with Recabinet at the moment is that loading them up by hand is a pain in the sack.

actually, Kazrog, i could create a set of Logic Space Designer presets for each of the impulses in my spare time.
would you be interested in them once im done?

also,
i volunteer to test the Mac AU version of the plugin,
Logic 9.0.2 , OS X 10.5.5.

Thanks, but manually creating presets for the library sounds very tedious, especially since those presets would be destined to become obsolete/incomplete this year. Honestly, you're better off just waiting for the plugin.

I'm very sorry about how tedious using Recabinet with Space Designer is presently. However, making the jump to a dedicated plugin makes a LOT of things possible.

cheers,

any hint of an estimated release date? :) or is it too early?

It will happen this year (2010.) It's too early to announce an exact release date (although Spring/Summer is looking realistic), and there may be a phased release (public plugin beta, final release, additional IR downloads, etc.) Still in R&D right now.

I registered to give thanks to this forum for steering me toward recabinet. I was pretty jazzed about Amp Designer in Logic, but Recabinet IRs are just simply better.

This completes a dream I've had for a LONG time. I've been recording since 1985, and I am blown away. This changes everything in my recording process. I downscaled to a very small studio and this is long overdue. Now I can record without an amp blaring in the same room. I don't have to try to throw my amp somewhere else. And I can tweak my amp head easily right in front of me with no long cable runs. Plus, I'm pretty hooked on being able to tweak things post-recording if I'm not happy with the speaker output. Not merely EQ, but changing out the whole speaker/mic component of the chain... liberating to say the least.

I'm running a Mesa Studio Caliber, and soon a Mark V (can't wait).

Also can't wait for the plugin (which I will most definitely immediately buy). So, I just wanted to share some work I did in the interim for anyone who would care to tweak. Presets for Logic for *some* of the wavs. PLEASE NOTE... this is NOT the wav files. I respect the developer's hard work. These are merely presets.

For this to work, you have to put the Recabinet folder at Root->Library->Audio->ImpulseResponses

Or batch rename the path within the preset files, using something like BBedit. I used BBedit batching and QuickKeys automation to simply my process and it saved me loads of time.

thanks you guys,

I bought Recabinet last week also. That reminder email really worked :)
I downloaded the demo a long time ago and never got around to trying it. I did I quick test with Boogex and I'm kicking myself for not getting on this sooner. I had no idea there would be so many options. SWEET!

I also love Recabinet and can't wait to see what the plugin is like.

Does anyone have a cpu-efficient way of using multiple impulses?

I've been using Voxengo Boogex, but when I have 2 or 3 impulses going per guitar, it starts eating up CPU really fast and I'm running a dual-core 3.0.

I haven't had any luck with LeCab.

Thanks guys! Those Logic presets will definitely be a time saver for people. When we first released the library, I knew that navigating files and folders would be a pain to use in most plugins, which is why we're developing our own. No news on that front, there won't be any announcements until we are close to a release date. Since our entire distribution is online, the time between pre-promotion and release will be very short.

I'm still a regular on these forums, although I've been scarce the past couple of weeks due to being busy with R&D for Recabinet. We released 1.0 and 2.0 very quickly (within a few months of each other) but this next update is more significant and requires much more R&D, as well as testing. Thank you all for the kind words and the patience!

crosstalk - as for your CPU load issues, try bouncing your tracks. Realtime convolution is processor intensive (regardless of the plugin used) and you will likely need to bounce in multi-layered guitar sessions on most CPUs.

That's what I usually do and figured as much. But, I know there's always the chance I'm just doing something inefficient and wanted to make sure. Thanks.
