Recomend me some music! thread

Sounded very similar to a lot of Mayhem I've heard. Actually thought it was slightly better than the one Dan linked.

Doesn't sound similar to Mayhem at all in my ears. I think the Mayhem song was way better, but we're not getting anywhere discussing which of the two are the best one.

No Sarcofago, no good

I was listing straight up black metal, Sarcofago don't fit into that category. Not for me, anyway.

Good list, but you've forgotten Ulver's Bergtatt! That is one epic album.

Ulver is good, but the I had to stop listening somewhere! I could have gone on forever! Well, not quite.

I'd not heard this before... total rubbish! :erk:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think black metal is an acquired taste for a lot of people, and for a lot of people they find that they love it straight away. For me, it was the latter. Though (like all genres of metal) there is a massive contrast between the good bands, and the bad, the innovative and the interesting, and the generic and boring.

Black metal receives a lot of negative criticism, I think the most out of all the genres within metal. Mainly due to the vocal style, the average black metal production (or lack of!) and the theatrical element of it, which a lot of people find amusing.

Regardless of what the black metal elitists think, people who enjoy black metal are not better or any more "true" than those who think it's rubbish, or don't "get it", or whatever. I'm sure none of you need me to tell you that at the end of the day, it's just down to taste, and what you enjoy.

Anyone here listen to Iced Earth? Whats a good starting point? Also, I NEED MORE THRASH. Heathen, Vio-Lence, and......? I need one more album to get!

i would recommend cavalera conspiracy's debut album - Inflikted( and still their sole one) if you like thrash metal :)

and if you like listenable black metal, i highly recommend Carach Angren - Lammendam... A dutch symphonic black metal band.. yes it is possible!
and Behemoth - evangelion is some great shit to! and when some people ask me for some new music, most of the time i say evile, but since this is the evile forum...

cavalera conspiracy was planning to release a new album this summer but too bad that won't be this year anymore! it's delayed till early next year... i guess max is too busy with soulfly and iggor with his mixhell project if i am right
