Steve Wilson and Opeth

It's not like Wislon and Åkerfeldt are writing songs for each others band....

Check your sources. Wilson wrote the lyrics or music... can't remember, to Opeth's "Death Whispered a Lullabye"

Hey, relax buddy. I wasn't sure if it was the music or the lyrics he had wrote. I'm not trying to start any fights here.

I didn't mean any offense, I'm not trying to start fights either. I think fighting on the internet is beyond stupidity, unless it's just cause you're bored or it's with the poo face Land of Grey and Pink.....but I wasn't trying to start one with you.......

No wonder Opeth fans have such a bad reputation. You lot should read the last few pages and see what you;ve all posted. Disgusting. Even an opinion gets shot down in flames around here.

//me shakes head

That's what I thought when I first joined this board....but if you don't go with the flow of the ocean you'll end up a poo face like LoGaP....

I'm afraid that description applies to a majority of the internet's forums. You always have the option of being ambivalent, or neutral in these matters - or simply not swearing at one another in the vain hopes that the amount of profanity will somehow convert the other party to your side.

Actualy, since the topic has wandered into the stupidty of message boards, I'll add my opinion in the hope that no-one will care.

Message boards are not another method of socialising. They are a joke, and should be advertised as such. Personaly, my aim is to have a bit of fun and take NOTHING seriously. If you take message boards seriously, you fail at life.

Think aboot it.

I totaly agree......... people are funny, I like hearing what they say, and I like it when they lose all sophistication and start swearing at each other over the internet about something as small in their actual lives as Steve Wilson's involvement in Opeth.....I'm obsessed with the music, not the people.....

haha, I have to say I disagree entirely. I have learned so much about music (and other random things) over the years that I tend to take forums quite seriously. A productive online community can be a really good source of knowledge aswell as a nice place to sort of 'let-go' after a day's grind. This sort of pseudo-socializing and information exchange is exactly why I'm here, and probably will still be in years to come...

So I like to believe that the trolls are the ones who fail at life.

It sometimes is a good source of information....when the people aren't being rude....but when is that?

steven wilson is good for opeth production. without him we would have the awesome lead in "Dirge for November" and the solo in "Bleak". Besides that, hes just good at mixing sound. IF you listen to PT albums theyre just perfectly mixed and I love it. I dont know what the fuck that dude was talking about above with Steven taking over the music. Mike has too big of an ego for that, plus the fact that in the DVD he shows Steve what to play. I think some of the people on the forum are too worrisome of what the next album will sound like. I just know its gonna be an Opeth album and Mike will write it. Relax and enjoy!

So let me get this straight... you created a new user profile so you could start fresh? Because you knew that everyone hates you? Jesus mate, you're a moron.

In that case I´m paranoid:cry:

this thread i think is an all time record on how fast one can go down in flames smashing into shit creek ...and then bursting out in flames again. I mean there were some fucking good posts and people had a god arguement over shit, now its just a shit-fight..*sigh*

Well-said. I totally agree.
