Message boards are not another method of socialising. They are a joke, and should be advertised as such. Personaly, my aim is to have a bit of fun and take NOTHING seriously. If you take message boards seriously, you fail at life.

You ARE right that this isn't really another form of socialising... but it CAN be true discussions of Opeth's music. If you want to go on message boards just to fuck around because they're a joke, then go somewhere else... you're ruining it for us, and you're also ruining it for the band, since this forum is their official board and is thus a representation on them.

I say that as long as you're getting what you want out of the forum, whether it be fun, serious discussion, a way to relax, or whatever, then you're not failing at anything.

That said, I take this forum as it goes. If a serious discussion without any arrogant morons flaming and bitching comes along, I'll take it seriously. But if someone starts a flamewar or something like that, I'm in! Why not?

However, this forum brings out the best in me i guess . I tried to start fresh...but the rampant stupidity and ignorance keeps me from being able to control myself anymore. So i figure, what the heck...ill take my seniority back.

I get some form of etertainment out of being here, and from certain people.

Not to mention Opeth is one of my favorite metal bands...i like to get news and other related discussions about them just like anyone else.

The stupid/ignorant ones are annoying and bothersome...but not to the point where id not want to post here. Understand?

I thought i might aswell add my two cents.

There is part in Voyage 34 by PT that sounds like the solo to IMTON. There are very few moments i can hear on Opeth albums that sounds like Wilson's work, it is obviously mikes work, and watching the dvd made me belive this further.
Whoever said that Mike looks up to Steve's producing ability is right, they are friends and feel comfortable working together, Steve doesnt control what Mike writes, there is no eveidence of that.
I look forward to the two working together still, and am really looking forward to (because it comes out first) the new PT album.
