I believe that there is evolution to such an extent.. such as how German's are usually taller than Americans, and how Arabs have brown skin to protect them from the sun better because they live in a hotter climate.. but to say that evolution can explain that Apes evolved into a form of humans and that those humans became highly intelligent, but there are no other animals that have done this, sounds completely absurd to me.
Of course Darwinism is outdated! It's been expanded on so much in the past 180 years that it's not even recognizable to the first ideas put forward by Darwin. Evolution is the backbone of ALL biology, it has explained more than almost any other scientific theory presented by man.
Apes didn't evolve into humans. Look at the page I posted with the skull fossils. There has to be a selective pressure that favors intelligence in animals. There hasn't been any. Otherwise there would be more intelligent creatures. There where a few more species of human type Neanderthals, but they died out because of Cromagnons (Us).
(Fake!) highly evolved dinosaur! The butt end of many conspiracy theories.
Edit: Nice post Dan!
razoredge - ive decided i love you..
I agree with Canto though, and that's where I guess I am agnostic.. if humans did evolve from apes as they say, then why isn't the process still happening to the same degree? why aren't there humans in a state of half evolution, and why hasn't it happened the same way to other animals? I think there must be some sort of divine plan in how the universe has been created, it's too perfect to be some kind of accident such as the big bang theory would explain, but I don't believe in 'god' as a being that must be worshipped.. this is why I have no clue what I really believe, it's not like Matt would say that I just can't make up my mind, it's that however this was all created is still too incomprehensible to fully imagine.
good job beautiful..... you just made me have impure thought..... just when prog got done reighning me in...... great !.............
Try reading the Book The Ancestors Tale by Richard Dawkins. It starts with people and works backward all the way back to bacteria. He explains all of the scientific methods and reasons why things turned out the way they did.
Dinosaurs.. great that you brought that up.. they lived on the earth like 65 million years? They never gained any intelligence.. but we have only had the earth for like what? 10,000 years ? But somehow we got intelligence in 10,000 years before dinosaurs got intelligence in 65 million? Please.. there are so many flaws in the theory of evolution and I cannot agree with it in that sense.
I don't know why you guys keep talking about Richard Dawkins, he's really small time. I have seen so many more atheists debate better than him. I saw him debate a Creation Scientist last fall and it was like a boy (Dawkins) being taken behind the woodshed. Instead of arguing his point, he kept just trying to say he was the only true scientist of the two, but the guy schooled him. There are way sharper atheistic writers out there guys.
Look, there was no SELECTIVE pressure that favored the idea of dinosaurs that could add. Animals just don't intrinsically get smarter as time goes on unless there is some reason.
People are now capable of reactivating the genes in chickens that come from dinosaurs. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/4079283.stm
Statler, what kind of science are you into? So your saying all of the medicine developed today was done so on assumptions?
I know theres like nearly no proof, just a theory and I dont apply to it but find it somewhat interesting. Has anyone else ever considered that we could have actually came from another planet/solar system? I realize our under developed technology and what we were thousands of years ago practically disproves this in itself but there are factor that could attribute to this. Just curious where people stand on that possibility.
evolution : havent other species evolved and adapted ? Like the current: cat family, elephants, birds, crocs & gators, all the species of "fish" even Canis Lupus and Im not talking mans intervention to "fimiliarus (dog)"
granted man sticks out like a sore thumb.... literally
