The awesome anime thread.

Claymore is fairly new and is unlicenced so you'll have to d/l a fansub torrent.

Cowboy Bebop is one of those rare animes where the dub is vastly superior.

Cowboy Bebop is pretty boring anyway so it doesn't matter if it is dub or sub. ^_^

My rec of the day: Seirei no Moribito

A really fucking good anime series is Shigurui,it´s pretty underground. Most violent anime i´ve seen yet but at the same time the most subtile.

Sounds interesting, is the overall tone of the show a serious one? I love violence but not when it's combined with typical anime silliness ala Elfen Lied or Gantz. I did enjoy Higurashi though.

Yeah i would say it´s probably the most serious anime i´ve ever seen. It´s a samurai anime. One interesting thing is that apart from the intro the series has no music in it at all, just some percussion. Another cool thing is that it has a narrator who speaks now and then. It´s not silly at all, completely free from pink haired girls with big eyes and mouse voices.

I´m 23 and i started watching anime at the age of 19,didn´t like cartoons when i was a kid. Kinda backwards there i know but much anime aint for kids either.

I'm 23 and started watching it about a year ago. People just have preconceived notions that they don't want (or care) to lose. If they watched an anime that was actually good they'd change their minds, but of course most won't do that.

Its stupid stuff like Yu-Gi-Oh and America leaving in some of the Japanese words to make it sound cooler that gives anime a bad name. Theres more to anime than people with big eyes and some cheesy plot.

Anyway some animes I have read that I like:

Naruto
Inu Yasha
Chrono Crusade
Fullmetal Alchemist
