The awesome anime thread.

Yeah Chobits is just awful. Love Hina i can digest though,it´s a sweet plot.
I need a little help here,i started to watch an anime series a couple of weeks ago and now i cant remember the name of the series. It´s about a guy who gets run over by a subway train along with another guy when they try to rescue an alcoholic who has fell down. Later they wake up in a room together with a bunch of other people who has also died and they are forced to carry out missions and stuff, anyone?

That's Gantz. If you like over-the-top sex and violence go ahead and watch it, that's all the show is about really.. I found it to be stupid and silly.

Yeah i´ve watched it now,it wasn´t that good really.

This is going to be sweeet..finally an anime comes based on the best manga ever made.

Here's what I've watched:

Spirited Away
Naruto
DragonBall Z & GT
Hikaru no Go
Full Metal Alchemist
Ghost in the Shell
Aeon Flux
Crest of the Stars
Ninja Scroll
Bleach
Princess Mononoke
Galaxy Angel
Love Hina
Perfect Blue
Akira
Noir
He-Man
Astroboy
Requiem from the Darkness
She-Ra Princess of Power
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

There's more but I can't think of them right now. I've been watching anime since I was 13 years old. I love it.

Hikaru No Go is really good. The concept just screams "BORING" but somehow it totally rules and is one of my absolute favourites ever.

So, does anyone know a good deep animé with a strong focus on the story, I mean, as in not too episodic where there's too much unnecessary bullshit between all relevant events?

Death Note is the best I've ever seen, by the way.

Princess Mononoke pwns hard core, I saw it a few years ago, but I would love to watch it again. I wanna check out spirited away as well, I heard it was really good. Other than that I kind of really dont like anime.

you should watch every movie he has done they are really good. I'd say you should watch Nausicaa of the valley of the wind next.

Sprited Away is a fantastic movie. It's definately one of my favourites.

hell yeah. he makes these kid's movies, or at least they seem like kid's movies, but they have this very bizarre feel...melancholy, uplifting, trippy, and awesome at the same time.

Nausicaä shouldn't be watched btw, it should be read. BIG fucking difference. The story is totally different and the anime version makes much more sens and has LOTS LOTS more depth and twice as epic. It is my tips for today, you won't find anything near it in terms of reading experiance when it comes to comic/manga books.

I liked Utawarerumono a lot. Kiddy Grade was also very interesting, with the whole reincarnation theory.

Oh, and Full Metal Panic was incredible.

Anyone ever seen Grave of the Fireflies? I was depressed for about a week after watching that movie.

My favorite Miyazaki film was Princess Mononoke. It was a really interesting take on the negative effects of industrialism.

'princess mononoke' is also my favourite miyazaki

my favourite animé director is satoshi kon though, absolutely love stuff like 'perfect blue' and 'millennium actress'

I think my favourite Miyazaki is Laputa: Castle in the Sky. I really like the theme and setting. I've always been a fan of fiction dealing with "Atlantis style" lost civilizations. When it comes to Miyazaki I generally prefer the epic adventures to his more surreal tales like Totoro or Spirited Away.

Just realised that Zeph could easily be this chick's twin brother:
