The Official Movie Thread

Just watched Takashi Miike's Dead or Alive. The story seemed a bit confusing, but I'll just watch it again... Sometime when I'm less tired. Was a great movie still. While it was unusually bizarre for a yakuza movie, it didn't seem bizarre enough for a Takashi Miike movie... Until the ending, that is. HOLY FUCK, the ending. Seriously?! This was possibly the greatest movie ending EVER (other good candidates would be There Will Be Blood or... No, can't think of anything else that matches this at the moment)

So I watched Fargo again. It was actually a lot better this time around. I just loved the character of Marge, the female cop. Everything she does and says seems pretty mundane, but there's just something charmingly quirky and captivating in the way it's all protrayed and how the actress delievers her lines. Very nice.

Batman is supposed to be a grim, dark character. He's damn sure not supposed to be in Batsuits with nipples on them.

I think that's Frances McCormand, right? I still need to see Fargo. It's on my list.

It's Frances McDormand. She's married to Joel Coen so you see her in a lot of the Coen brother's movies (Blood Simple, Raising Arizona, Miller's Crossing, Fargo, and probably others that I can't remember right now...)

Fargo must be the only Coen film I ever watched. I don't recognize
any of those films. Then again, the vast majority of movies have their names completely changed when translated to Hebrew, so I can't be sure about that

Watched 28 Days Later yesterday. I thought it was great. Gonna see the second one soon.
I also watched this weird movie called Red Road, which holds the dubious record for most graphic sex scene outside of a porno. Not a particularly good movie, though.

Watched Stalker for the second time earlier today. A truly special movie. it draws me into a complete trance when I'm watching it. The words and images wash over me and I absorb them without even noticing. A unique viewing experience.
