The Official Movie Thread

Saw Moon last night, finally. I was stoked to see it, and it did not let down at all. I personally thought it was incredible; The Directing, cenes, composition, mood, atmosphere. I dont know, it just all worked.

also, I refuse to see Fast and Furious. ugggggh I hate shit like that

Recently saw The Hangover as well as The Haunting in Connecticut.

The Hangover ...enjoyed it...some classic comedy moments. Though, I wished the movie would have shown more of the actual wild-nites events...instead of seeing it through only still-shots / flashbacks at the end of the movie. Thought they overplayed the whole hangover not remebering anything stuff. Still very funny!

The Haunting in Conn...this movie was very good. Based on a family that moves into a house, formerly a funeral home, that has a chilling history and is based on true events. This is a reality type horror film that constantly keeps you on the edge and wondering throughout. This movie probably won't be a big blockbuster hit and we have all seen this stuff done before (The Exorcist or Poltergeist etc). However, Connecticuts storyline and past events surprisingly grabbed me...its been a while since a horror movie kept me awake at night.

The new Friday The 13:th was really bad I think. First, what's with all the nudity? It's almost like the director knew the plot and the action sucked, so he threw in some random tits and ass here and there. Second, how many times can you use the old "jump up from the seat" moment in a horror movie without getting lame? I lost count, and it wasn't like there was any suspension or creepy atmosphere to make up for it. Third, in a horror movie you shouldn't be rooting for the damn killer, but everyone in this movie is a douchebag, so you're almost cheering when Jason gets them.

So everyone should get ready to see THE FIGHTER feat. Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale among others (Amy Adams and a couple more I think)...it's being shot and filmed pretty much totally in and around my city. In fact, my friend's mother got paid 200 dollars because of the inconvenience of the crew having to block their driveway for a couple days. LOLz

Yup...the Mickey Ward story. Can't wait to see it.

Being formerly from those parts...I know co-workers that grew up next door to Mickey Ward....heard some wild stories. Also, have a close friend who's house, mainly his gigantic wrap-around farmers porch and yard is being used to film some scenes in the movie. I believe its a family cookout / party scene that gets a little out of hand. Funny thing, upon returning home one day (my friend) noticed his deck furniture, grill and stuff was missing. He was pissed, thought it was stolen...only to find out that the film crew, unknowingly to him, took all the modern items from the premise and put it into storage at the City Hall. Being the set could obviously only have the look of the late 80's or early 90's and such.

Well yeah I agree, but it's a horror movie, not a porno.

Well the theme to the Friday the 13th movies and a lot of us horror back then was to scare teens into not having sex, which is why a lot of scenes where people die, they are fucking.

Anyone else see GI Joe? I did, was worth the 5 bucks I thought. The action was really good, and those gay suits that were shown in the preview were only used in that action sequence, as I always remembered GI Joe being natural bad asses not some military science suit thing, maybe I'm wrong though. The 2 chicks are gorgeous beyond belief, gay love stories with both which makes movie kinda lame later on as its pretty ridiculous, but way better than trandormers, which is what I compare this too. And wayans is obviously comedic relief

yeah I saw it for some dumb reason. It was shit. Complete shit. Acting was terrible, special effects werent that great ( especially the desert when they were flying over it). Man, what a waste of my money.

The past two nights I watched the The Godfather Part 1 and 2 at a local theater. It was the first time I had watched either movie the whole way through. They were really good and seeing them on a big screen was a great experience.
