I rewatched The Good the Bad and the Ugly for the second time today, been a few years since I watched it the first time, I didn't like it as much as the first time I watched it, don't know why, but still a fun a watch. It's one of the few westerns I've seen.

I'm constantly watching westerns, just finished re-watching The Return Of The Magnificent Seven.
I fucking love The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

What don't you like about the new one?

Let me begin by saying that I really fucking enjoyed Fury Road, but as I expected it fell into some typical, modern pitfalls like REALLY unoriginal scoring which agitated me way more than I was expecting (seriously if you closed your eyes and pressed play you'd be hardpressed to tell the difference between this film and any other film of the last few years) but that aside, Tom Hardy was a fairly mediocre Max, not to mention his accent was SHIT and for me, the Australian element in this franchise is pretty damn central to it's DNA.
Some of the CGI was hard to bear, but I'm happy to put that down to me being a narrow-minded asshole that doesn't handle change well.

Other than all of that, I thought it was the best action film in fucking years, don't translate "it's not better than the first 2 films" as me saying I think it's shit.

easily one of my top five films of all time. I love the whole trilogy. The ending scene at the cemetary is, in my opinion, one of the most well done scenes in cinema. It's just gold. And then Morricone's score. "The Ecstasy of Gold" is the definition of epic. I love it

I can't deal with cowboy films for some reason. I love Peckinpah's Cross of Iron though, for me, that's his best film.

My film professor loves Peckinpah, have you seen Wild Bunch? He raved about that one the most. I didn't necessarily love it on first viewing, but i'll give it another go eventually.

Me, hammered as shit last night, on Facebook: "'8 1/2 is the most autobiographical film ever.' Obviously you pricks haven't seen Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia, which is basically Peckinpah's internal dialogue regarding whether he deserves to live or die."

Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia is my favorite Peckinpah, for what it's worth. Wild Bunch, Straw Dogs, and Junior Bonner are great. I absolutely love his work.

I watched Alfredo Garcia off my professor's recommendation but it didn't hit me either, like Wild Bunch. Straw Dogs is sitting on my hard drive
