The Official Movie Thread

Watched Lars And The Real Girl last night. It's one of those comedies that don't have jokes. I don't recommend it.

It's a shame, because it did have a unique pretense, but didn't go anywhere (at least anywhere funny) at all.

Just saw Goodfellas, for the first time. Something I should've done a long time ago. Great fucking movie.

Possibly my favorite movie.

Check out Casino and Carlito's Way if you have not.

Last movies I watched.

Funny Games with Naomi Watts and The Bank Job which were great.

Watched Futurama: Beast With A Billion Backs. I thought it was very disappointing.

I loved it, but, people should be warned that it's fairly different from Bender's Big Score. Really bizarre at best, actually.

Possibly my favorite movie.

Thanks for the recs. Although, for crime films, I generally prefer those with a bit more violence than Goodfellas... Actually, I really like violence, as long as it's not tacked on... And sometimes even if it is tacked on.

I didn't realize there was a futurama movie...
the show was weird...most of an episode would outright suck but then someone would say something that was hilarious enough to make it worth watching.

I agree with DeathD on Goodfellas and his other recs.
I would also throw in Heat with Deniro and Pacino...great cast, great movie.

On the comedy side of a crimeboss movie, would rec Analyse This with Deniro and Billy Crystal...hilarious stuff!

No, you suck. Futurama is better than every other animated american TV series put together.

Just saw American Beauty. Whoa... That just totally exceeded any expectations I ever could've had. I didn't know it was virtually possible to make such an awesome movie about love (although there's a lot more to it)

Very good movie.
Other under the radar but amazingly good movies with Spacey...
-"The Usual Suspects"
-"The Life Of David Gale"
He also acted in and sang the parts in his performance of the singer / entertainer Bobby Darin. Kinda had a corny broadway vibe to the movie but once again showed his amazing talents.

I really don't think this movie was meant to be some gutbuster comedy. You probably went into it with the wrong mindset.

How did I miss this one? Hackman and Freeman, have these two ever been in a bad movie...it has to be good? Just checked out the trailer to "Under Suspicion"...looks real good and one I'll be seeing very soon.
