I find this deserves its own thread, due to the fact that the other gamers thread is mostly games in the past few years.

So what makes older games so much fun? Is the the mass nostalgia of when you were younger?



Is it the fact that games were better back at a certain point of time?


What ever your reason is, they are fun to play.

I always loved playing the old Nintendo games and Genesis. RC Pro Am, Mike Tyson's Punch Out , The Legend of Zelda, Super Tecmo Bowl, Toe Jam & Earl(Genesis).

Diablo II is the best game ever. Other than that, I still haven't beaten Majora's Mask, but it's an awesome game.

Doom has honestly aged really poorly. I don't see how it's possible to like Diablo I more, DII is superior in every conceivable way. If it counts, Deus Ex is one of the better games ever.

Also, Age of Empires and Age of Empires II. Loved the shit out of those.

Oh man, NES was my religion way back when. I've got like 5 boxes filled with old games that I need to look through at some point. One that comes to mind right now is this:

Anyone play that? I remember getting really pissed off while playing it. Never really went that far with it.
