It is just as technically correct to use quotation marks for emphasis as it is to use them for irony, one has just come to be used far more then the other and they don't play nicely, leading to the latter being pwnd.
ALSO: I have never even seen quots being used for emphasis, ever, hah. I'm just playing devils advocate using 10 minutes of research that probobly is false but I don't have reason to think so? It is really stupid though. A lot of stuff is stupid, 'hanged' 'dived' etc. GIVE ME A BREAK.

Yea so using them for emphasis is just as correct as using them for irony, was my point.

I decided I wanted to enjoy some fresh air one last time so I took out the car and drove some 100 miles around.
La Chaise-Dieu (The House of God) and it's abbey: small village, huge stone bulk
an outer corridor of said abbey
another aisle, somewhat darker
the old fortress of Polignac atop a forbidding cliff. My word, it's a lot more impressive on the spot
classic dungeon, can't get enough of those
hem, looks like the owner has been lazy of late, or dead maybe
a slit in the outer wall, any conjecture as to its shape?

those shoes look awful but they're great for hiking
Le Puy-en-Velay, traditional pilgrimage place with funny rocks rising in the very center of the town
