TOOL: question for NON-American Opeth fans

SO true! The guitars on Lateralus were deadly boring, the album would have been so much more perfect with a better guitarist.

..I'm Canadian so I'm allowed to answer this right? You can't just lump us in with Americans! I used to really enjoy tool, until one day I was reading up on bands similar or related to Tool. I read about this little Swedish progressive metal band called Opeth... and the rest is history

Heh, this is my opinion. Adam Jones is a very sloppy guitarplayer, but no one else can be sloppy and still sound as good as him. He's very unenergetic live though.

I think Tool is an exceptional band, but they seem too overrated in the US. They write great music, given, but these kids today worship them, with good reason, but they just don't comprehend that there 'are' band better than Tool.

I think Tool are great musicians who can write good songs. Their best album is Aenima, Lateralus hasn't got enough melody and seems to lack the depressed atmosphere of the previous albums.
Maynard James Keenan is a wonderful singer, but he has done his best work with A Perfect Circle.
