USA vs Europe

On the whole I don't mind French people. I'm sure most of them are perfectly nice.

But around the tourist areas, you can just feel the hatred they have. The food is substandard as well, and they make you pay to use public toilets.

Really, I much prefer Germany. Nice food, pleasent people, interesting history.

Nope, but ask virtually anyone in the general vicinity (Europa), and you'll see it's a very common belief. Being a Norwegian myself, though, I would have problems trying to objectively deduce the reasons behind this most peculiar phenomena.

Hmmm, ask any swede that comes here to study or work, and they'll tell you it's virtually impossible to make friendships with Norwegians.

It makes sense, though. What the hell do we need swedes for? :S

Furniture and household appliances? :erk:

Actually I think IKEA is owned by Danes. Oh well.

lol, well i dunno about that. i stayed with swedes in oslo. come to think of it, i think all of his friends were swedes... hehehe

but all the random people i met in shops seemed very nice. the guy who runs the metal shop in oslo took to me right away! met him a couple times. maybe i'm just uber cool.
~gR~

One of my friends went to an international Boy Scout Jamboree and stayed with a Swedish, all female troup. By the end of the week, he'd had sex with three different girls from the troup and he's not even good looking. I think that says more about Sweden than any other story I've heard.

I wish I could get into the scouts. Damn my lethal history of knife-fighting with men in brown shorts :(

UPS did a little too much for you, eh? :p

UPS guy: Get ready for my package little boy!
You: Aahhh! *Grabs guy's boxcutter and shanks him*

Danes wtf?!
IKEA is privatly owned by Ingvar Kamprad (a Swede) but is registered in The Netherlands with various corporations used for alot of different stuff to avoid as much taxing as possible.

And Crimson_Velvet: you are unfriendly to the swedes because you can't stand the fact that we are a tiny bit cooler then you. ;D

Europe -- more fuel efficient cars. Better alcoholic beverages. Better nonalcoholic beverages. Things seem to be more organised. Football. Rugby. Pubs. A lot of history -- America has history as well, but the history here goes further back.

America -- peanut butter. French toast. Pancakes. Baseball. A more specialised history. Large large large.

This is just me rambling after living elsewhere for a while.
