Video game music

Well, I respectfully disagree about the story lines but I have to tell you that Squall does live. For every FF game always watch past the credits until it says "The End". There are always at least 1-2 more minutes of story after the credits.
play it again, i've watched the last FMV so many times. he isn't in the party scene. rinoa is on the balcony, she turns and looks at the camera, there may or may not be squall standing there but he's not shown. its left open whether or not he finds his way back as in the flowery fields scene (lol) he looks quite dead.

Right, but have you watched the FMV after the credits until it says THE END? Because it shows Rinoa and Squall on the balcony kissing. This scene is AFTER the credits. I suggest you play it again until you see the words "The End' on the screen.

oh man, my favorite video game music of all time is probably the music from "Megaman 2". This is my favorite Megaman out of all the series, a true classic. The music kicks ass too! My personal favorite tune on the game is "Metal Man's" stage(hah, no pun intended) Anyone know what i'm talking about?

yes i do. my favorite megaman game as well. however my favorite level/song is the water level with bubble man.

Someone already said it, but Lucasarts adventure games had some killer fucking music...especially the later Monkey Islands. Very relaxing island jams.

Oh, and Grim Fandango! Did anyone ever play that? Some kick ass bebop-era jazz and mariachi band stuff. For a while right when the game came out, they were giving away a free soundtrack CD with purchase of the game....I missed out on that. :(

i did. hmm must be my version. :err:

Ahh FF8. Great music... the game though... Let's just say that I pushed myself to get to Ultimecia's Castle two times and never had the will power to go through and finish the game. It lacked the 'magic' from FF7. I think the only thing keeping it going was the barely-more-than-superficial love story between Squall and Rinoa.

I kind of lost track after that game though because I hit this financial stagnation pit and haven't been able to keep up with any more games since, so I have no idea how FFX and such turned out. Never even got a chance to play IX.

I thought 8 owned hard, but for me, 9 was the best, I have no idea why, I just seemed to really get into the story alot more. And when I thought Zidane died, I was almost in tears! Am I the only one who finds FFX-2 unplayable because Rikku is just the most annoying bitch ever?

I'm with you, X-2 sucks ass, especially where they're pop stars at the beginning. I literally puked all over my tv.

rikku is extremely annoying. but other than her, and the intro FMV, that game is my favorite of the series for playability. there was quite a lot to do in order to get 100% complete. i also enjoyed 10 and 8. 9 annoyed the shit out of me.

what bothers me so much about 7 is it seems that everyone gushes over sephiroth (granted yes he was damn cool) and aeris. imo aeris could have been left out of the story. cloud's relations to the females is something like this:
yuffie: you stole my shit, i dont trust you.
tifa: childhood friend who i somehow fall in love with at the end only not really.
aeris: girl i just met at a flower shop and instantly fell in love with, then she died, and i needed a new woman so there was tifa. oh yeah, but i remember you for the final battle just because you happened to have a little materia we needed.

forgive me, but in my opinion it seemed very... fake.
whereas squall and rinoa was more believable (although corny).
and at the far end, tidus and yuna was done very, very well. ff10's characters had a lot better background than ff7 or 8.

in general i just think 7 is way overhyped. but thats just me.

Wait, so all you look for in the FF games is the love-story value? Are you sure you aren't female?
character interaction... RPGs dude. RPGS are about characters.

obviously if it were about graphics FFX-2 would win. i think FF7's characters (besides Sephiroth and maybe Barret) were badly developed. the game seems unfinished. i was just comparing that to FF8 & FFX where i think the characters seemed more "real" and had better development, thus better game. in my opinion.

anyways, this is a tangent.

Shadow Hearts had good music.

I personally love the symphonic soundtrack to Total Annihilation and would quite honestly love to hear more music of that caliber (the term neo-classical comes to mind, but in the true sense of the word, not some shemale who wanks the guitar at 10,000BPM).

Classical music was played by old men who wanked the piano at 10,000BPM.. I don't quite understand your little guitar boycott... Fag! :tickled:

Ehh I beg to differ... The characters in Final Fantasy 7 were great... The main character, Cloud, was a mysterious dude - which only added to the grandiose tale.. You didn't really know what the fuck was up with him until near the end.. I'd say all the characters are great, even Nanaki (even though he's a talking mutt)

It's fantasy for a reason!

Nanaki was one of the better characters actually. Cloud was mysterious because aside from his amnesia there was hardly anything to him.

I like the music of ff4 a lot myself. But i like pretty much all the ff music.

And of course mega man 2

Most shite by Nobuo Uematsu and Koji Kondo rocks this world.
Mainly found in Final Fantasy and Zelda series.
Silent Hill has shown some greate music recently too.
And then we have Castlevania, megaman, resident evil,
grim fandango and so on
