So occasionally you hear him sing but not enough for me. They could even trade off harsh vocals and I would be happier. Multiple singers is ussually more interesting, and Dimmu don't use it to it's potential.

Vortex is a very versatile bassist, he's played in many bands such as Arcturus, Dimmu Borgir and of course Borknagar. But i say that he's been put to better use in dimmu borgir, he's using more aggressive vocals and has really made a name for Dimmu Borgir. Garm is also a good vocalist... sounds much like Vintersorg in my ears, mind you I'm going tone deaf..
But my money is on Vintersorg
I agree with this. Listening to Gods of my World off the album and a live recording is almost like listening to the same thing. That's a pretty awesome effort. But choose something like Revolt, you can't really do the layers of the vocals unless you have two voiceboxes (do it yourself surgery anyone?). I actually liked the live recording of The Black Token (Mr.V) better than the recording, just seems to do a great job of live concerts. Not that Vortex did not do great stuff live, but I do think that it sounded different to the recordings and probably a bit weaker in competition with the other instruments.tit said:well let me see i like simen. i choose vintersorg. i heard simen live and have been to shows of him with borknagr when they toured. he is awful live. some of the clean parts for the most parts all the songs he doesn't sing live but instead does the coarse vocals. i have a cd with all the songs borknagar did with vintersorg live and not only does he do them good but he sings clean where it was clean on the album. wow that's a concept stay true to the recording otherwise what's the point. two simen loops his vocals so many times in the studio by the time you see him live he can't reproduce what he did in the studio. hence i say what's the fucking point if you are going to record something you can't do live. vintersorg is more natural. he uses what he has but he doesn't sing something when i see borknagar that i will be cringing when he does give his vocal performances. i am sure most of you could give less shit about live but in my opinion that's a true test of a good singer. able to handle both. simen has a wider range but once again that's only in the studio. go record sometimes you will see just how much they can polish you up in the studio \m/
