I'm too old to worry about embarrassment, but there's a Christian pop (that's two strikes against right there) metal (strike 3) band called Acceptance which I really dig.

I have been listening to Paramore more than any metal band lately.
I don't mind Suicide Silence either, as much as the "BROOTALZ AND TROO" metal elitist people tell me it sucks.
I fucking love Dr Dre and I fucking love Eminem's early work so much.

I also like a raft of bands classified as emo, like Sunny Day Real Estate, Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard Confessional and Rites Of Spring.

How about Lost Horizon and other misc. power metal... except for Blind Guaridan, I will always proudly sport the Guardian :worship:

I've recently gotten into Demons & Wizards stuff, those riffs are such a great combination with hansi's vocals! but of course, try telling anyone you like a band with a name like that, and they'll pretty much assume you spend 12 hours a day playing world of warcraft. ironically enough i fucking hate that game.

On the other page, I fucking love Radiohead and Dredg.
OK Computer has been one of my favorite albums for years and years.

[OFFTOPIC ON]
what have the people against power metal?(especially americans)
i heard a LOT of people saying its cheesy , lame, not metal , etc...

and what have the americans with putting the word "christian" in front of musical genres ?
christian pop, christian rock, christian death metal, etc...
i have heard pagan , christian , "satanic" music....if the music is good ...
who fucking cares about the religion of the members of the band?...

[OFFTOPIC OFF]

i LOVE power metal (Rhapsody, stratovarius, blind guardian , kamelot, Rhapsody, theocracy, savage circus , adagio,
Rhapsody , hammerfall, luca turilli...did i say Rhapsody?)

A few songs of dragonforce and manowar

all of trivium

slipknot (wait and bleed is the song that got me into metal)

EVERYTHING THAT HAS THE WORD SYMPHONIC/FOLK/VIKING ON IT

i REALLY like female vocalists (right now im really liking the singer of IN THIS MOMENT)
evanescence, within temptation , epica , nightwish (with tarja), tarja turunen , lara fabian...

classical and piano music

in the last two days i´ve been listening to paramore

blink 182 , sum 41,the early simple plan, run kid run , last winter , a lot of pop rock music , jpop/jrock (YUI is a goddess)

anime music

the scorpions (BEST BALLADS EVER.)

Movies and videogames ost
and even musicals (yes musicals...the london production of the lord of the rings is EPIC.)

a lot of acoustic stuff (seriously , give me a good voice and an acoustic guitar or a piano and i will listen to it)

i listen to almost all the styles of metal:headbang:

And a lot of other stuff that im too tired to write...

I dont really see the point of hating to admit that i like certain bands or certain styles of music :S

Trivium

Edit:

Screaming mode: ONLY SHOGUN!

Yes, chronic depression I suppose. Anything happy is gay. Anything to do with "I slit my wrists", "This is me dying in your arms, now set me free" is cool.

How do add +1 ¯(°_o)/¯

YES PARAMORE!

I fucking love Paramore production too.
I fucking love their guitar tones so much particularly on "Riot!". So punchy, full, plenty of bite and amazing clarity.
It's all subjective of course, but there is nothing in their production I can fault one bit.

It's always awesome when you listen to something that not only has music you fucking love, but the production pwns too.

I've got a big collection of rocky/industrial-lite girl bands/pop singer - Paramore (like everyone else apparently), Flyleaf, Katy Perry, The Veronicas, Skye Sweetnam (well, she did get Tim Armstrong on her last album), the list goes on...

I'm not fussed what people think about it, but I am slightly ashamed of the fact I'd listened to most of them for quite a while before I bothered to find out what they looked like... so far none of them have been dogs though, so s'all good

I love female vocalists, EXCEPT the second rate Opera divas that seem to gravitate to the power metal scene - on which note, the reason I personally hate it is because I can't stand all the fantasy bullshit lyrics.

Like someone else said, I'm a sucker for almost anything acoustic too, and string quartets are great (cellos gives me the horn).
