Why does everyone say DM is easy to play?

btw... i think in general, metal musicians no matter which genre are the best musicians in the world... because they can easily play other styles of music (jazz, classical etc.) or learn those styles rather quickly then musicians from other styles are able to play metal...

As for DM... like others have said some of it is difficult and some of it is simple... what is difficult is keeping in time the rhythm sections.. because for the most part DM in general are just powerchords with the occassional riff... the guitar leads can be difficult depending on the guitarist...

btw I'm listening to Bloodbath as I type this... great band...

Old school riffs are usally played with just power chords. And that makes the song writing easy.

Its not that I cant play it, but Im a faggot and I have a problem with tremelo picking at ultra fast speeds.

Well I enjoy playing stuff like old At The Gates, Necrophobic, Demigod and Eucharist and I don't have much trouble with it. Then again if all you want to play is Necrophagist it will take you significantly longer to be able to play it well. But this shouldn't be a problem because Necrophagist suck and you shouldn't waste your time trying to learn their songs anyways.

I've never tried but I am sure I could play the riffs if I really wanted to. I am not a big lead guitarist I prefer riffing so I probably wouldn't waste my time trying to learn a solo unless I really really loved it.

Most of it isn't difficult if you've been playing for less than 3 years. A lot of stuff for example from Scream Bloody Gore is pretty easy, minus the solos. Anyways, it kind of looks like that CC video has been speed up.
