Quit showing off that fucking video. We know classically trained guitarists play difficult stuff. It's no headline news... but maybe it is to you with your Wu-Tang and bodybuilding shit.

Well, I appreciate Hell's tube vid's man. I've heard a lot of CC early work but never got into their last 3 - 4 albums. That one video just changed my mind.

Isn’t that the point of being on a forum? Sharing music?

Jeez... so many pseudo elitist on these boards.

Welp, time for my contribution to the thread

Ahem, It's quite simple really, some death metal is easy and some is not.

In Cannibal Corpse's case (being one of the pioneers of extreme death metal) I think it's gotten to a point where they are so used to the insanely fast finger movements that it has become second nature, I was watching their DVD Live Cannibalism some time ago and their former guitarist Jack Owen actually looked bored while shredding like it's nobodies business. They could probably play it in their sleep...with their genitals.

With death metal you have to be very attuned to where your fingers are going to go and even one mistake could mess up everything, staying in time is the key; the picking and fingering must become a single movement.

While we're on this subject anyway...what about extreme power metal
