Albums you like that most people hate (2008 edition)

Not so much hated, I guess, as just a style that most people here wouldn't touch with a 90-foot pole.

I fucking love that album!

Tbh, Dragonforce aren't really that bad. Sure, they do get pretty repetative and alot of their fans are "scene kids", but still.

motley crue-1994 self titled and generation swine
poison- the 2 90's albums without cc deville
warrant- ultraphobic
megadeth-risk
alice cooper- the early 80's stuff
queensryche- HITNF-tribe

Nightwish - I've liked everything I've heard from them so far

Yeah, it was a let down, but I don't think it's as bad as people make it out to be.

I really love this Satyricon release, I think a lot of people are either angry or disappointed with it, due to the whole "modern" black metal thing. I also loved Volcano.

Jeezus, I can't stand "Now, Diabolical". I was never too big on Satyricon from the get-go, but I missed out on a few of their releases.

Don't a lot of people talk shit about Emperor's "Anthems to the Welkin Dusk"??

Not everyone hates it of course, but I never understood why so many people on teh internets could talk so much shit about this album. Great stuff. Too memorable & outplayed at this point for me, but still excellent no matter what.

Any hate for this album is likely due to (1) the thin production (done perhaps intentionally after the bassist died) and (2) the more progressive songwriting, which is a tax on accessibility and thus a deterrent to those into more popular metal. Metallica, in both eras are regarded as a very popular metal band, so when they release an album not so characteristic of a popular metal band, they are bound to get some heat for it (but not from the REAL metal fans, of course).

just when I thought you couldn't get anymore homo, you say something like this.

well yeah, if masturbatory guitar solos and cheesy Dungeons & Dragons lyrics are your thing.

lol you faggot

Embrace the inner nerd...and by the way, D&D lyrics would be an improvement. Currently they just string together fantasy sounding words - "The kingdom of the eternal evil of the almighty dragon sword of pooowwweerr!!!! weedly-weedly"

I also like ...and Justice for All, pretty good album.

Anyways, Marduks' albums receive a lot of hate in this forum, especially Plague Angel, and Rom 5:12, those where two great releases from them.
