Black Metal.

Adzalaan is a distinctively riffy USBM:

Hwwauoch, to me, kinda feels like In Jeraspunta worship. It's mad.

Yo guys, if you had to list some of the best black metal from the past 5 years or so, what would they be? Been itching for some good stuff but I'm so out of the loop.

Communion - At the Announcement
Hades Archer - Temple of the Impure
Mooncitadel - Moon Calls to Wander the Winter’s Majesty
Panphage - Storm and Jord
Sammath - Godless Arrogance
Sorcier des Glaces - North and Sorcier des Glaces
Svolder - Desecration of the Five Holy Pillars
Vargrav - Netherstorm
Wampyrinacht - We Will be Watching (this should probably be the first thing you listen to if you haven’t. Since you love Macabre Omen. Classic Greek sound here.)

If you want more let me know.

Have you heard the Sammath? Pure, chaotic violence.

The way that melody emerges from the utter fucking devastation around 2:20 is chilling. And then it further develops at 3:00. Godly. Apocalytpic is the only way I can describe it. Unapologetic and triumphantly nihilistic. The whole album is absolutely savage. And those drums could cave skulls.

I only recognize a handful of these bands. Definitely have some listening to do. I'm particularily looking for atmospheric/pagan Agalloch style shit due to the fucking EXTREME COLD WEATHER we're having here in the Midwest.

Glad to see someone else enjoying that Uruk! Good stuff! I also second the Horns and Hooves, forgot about that one. I didn’t like the follow up nearly as much.

I honestly can’t get into that Fin. I know you compared it to FaFtS, but I’m just not hearing it at all :(.

How is that Wolfnacht compared to Heidentum?

I haven’t heard the Circle of Dawn. Definitely going to check that one out.

Yeah not feeling this Sammath album really. It has all the intensity and chaotic madness of an Antaeus but it's all over the place for me. I'll finish the album but 2 songs in isn't doing it.

Eh, different strokes. I’m personally not that into Antaeus.

Listen to the Wampyrinacht! Should be right up your alley!

Also, I think I remember you rating a track from North quite highly in the mixtape game so try that one as well.
