Actually yeah I remembered that. The band works much better in full length though than the mixtape game. (Most black metal does, I think)

I hadn't actually seen that artwork since I have the tape version which has different art. That is killer!

So anyone heard the new Coldworld? I very much looked forward to it. However it turned out to be a boring mixture of Throes of Dawn's Quickilver Clouds and some hipster nowadays USBM like Mare Cognitum or the like... Add some female vocals and you have the perfect gay recipe.

I thought their debut was massively overrated and mediocre. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they got worse.

Pretty good stuff. Livelier, symphonic bm. Has some power metal moments. Definitely a different take on the genre. Gotta be in the mood for this one.

So I haven't seen Katharsis mentioned here in a long time. It used to be they were always mentioned in the same sentence with DsO. Just found 666 and VVorld VVithout End for really cheap.

I don't think they sound like DSO much, but they always remind me of S.V.E.S.T, who actually may be better. Either way, great purchases.

Eh I didn't mean they sounded like DsO. I meant when someone asked for the best modern black metal they and DsO were usually side by side recommendations. As per usual, I never explain what I mean very well.

I'm still missing a lot of DSO material. I never checked their first two albums or their Manifestations cds.

I'm familar with VVorld VVithout End and Fourth Reich by Katharsis and they're both good. I need to look into 666. How is it compared to these 2?

Only heard it once but from what I recall it was awesome and fit in with their other material well.

More raw and primitive, shorter songs, not as epic, not as great production, not as great song writing. Very mediocre compared to the two master pieces you mention.

It definitely has a divisive sound, which is why I posted it. I took a chance on the tape and I'm not exactly disappointed.
