COB start writing new album

^This is exactly what the whole board thinks while Joonas is scratching his neckbeard and thinking how every other person on the board admires him because of his deep analyses of trees and lakes that appear on CoB songs.

So, october is almost over now, and still no suprise? I was thinking they would release a new cobtv episode, or maybe a demo/single, like they did with Tie my rope 1 year before it's release.

Hope they don't lie to us fans....

If I'm not mistaken, the show in india was the surprise

Why do a "update" on the album at facebook, detailing it with it being blackmetal and stuff and be very suprised in october, and then letting the suprise be a concert in India? Makes no sense to me :goggly:

From Jaskas Page (29th September):
So, the surprise was the first show ever in India. Some of you might think it is a lame surprise but the fact is that we have a 15-year career behind and we have never been in India, the second most populated country in the world.
Bangalore, here we come!!
Jaska
Ps. This wasn't all...

I have to agree with Rune here, very curious about the frequent mentioning of Black Metal and churchburnings; sounds like the third wave is coming!
Hope he didn't mean the Loudpark Festival in Japan on the 27th(?) with that.

I think yes. He means a Japanese gig. Don't expect a new hit song for early Christmas present.

I hope they're indeed changing their image to atmospheric black metal direction cos that's what I've been hoping for and what suits them best.

If COB had any artistic mind, they'd build on the unique horror theme with the Lake and the Reaper etc, turn their music darker and more atmospheric, basically more interesting and evil-sounding. But it would need a big, big change from what they're about now. I liked the idea of the RRF cover art where the elements from the Bodom murder scene (tent, knife, bodies) were used in the artwork, but it was musically not dark or atmospheric at all.

However, bear in mind their darkest releases were Thrashed and Blooddrunk, which aren't atmospheric... when compared to Hatebreeder or Follow the Reaper they missed the atmosphere, making the black tones pointless. And they claimed RRF is very satanic, so I wouldn't get hyped up about the statements so far. What goes around comes around...

Then please stop here with your never ending bla bla in every single threat. Do everyone of us a favor and let these five words be your last until the new album is out. But honestly, can you actually hear yourself talking the same stuff over and over again?

This x1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000.

In the time that you've been here I've never heard you talk about anything else except how good Bodom used to be, how they need to be that way again, and how no one else compares.

The only time you haven't done this was when I derailed you to talking about food. Honestly, and I don't mean this to sound rude, but when I think of a Bodom fanboi at their worst, you are easily the first person that comes to mind. Just stop man, you're digging a hole for yourself.

You forgot to mention trees and lakes!!!! Also, Arcane is right. Joonas should shut the hell up instead of raising his postcount with the same message he's been posting for years.

Aside from the food conversation, I honestly don't think I can find a post where he hasn't used the word "atmosphere". Shit I wouldn't be surprised if he said it then too.

If I was so downbeat by the fact that bodom dosen't make scandi-metal anno 2000, I wouldn't bother being a fan anymore. While I do agree that Alexi did better stuff as a teen, I still enjoy a lot of the new stuff as well.

I won't even go into my opinions about this band just because it's the same things that have been said 1,000's of times throughout this forum and countless other places. That's my point actually. Why argue the same thing non-stop? This place has easily became one of the most annoying fanbases ever in recent years.

Try visiting a Guns N' Roses forum, you'd be amazed :P

^You visit a Guns and Roses forum?

The reason I'm taking this with affection is because I was 14-16 when I was listening to Follow the Reaper with a couple of friends as teenagers enduring hard tenure in life and relieving things by having beer parties at the summer house lake listening to this album, sometimes having tremendous fun, other times talking about suicide, so it's grown something nostalgic, symbolic etc for me and I can't bear how the band has discarded the original idea they were about cos it was great. Rebellious teenagers doing alcohol and selling their souls to the Reaper to gain salvation only to end up imprisoned in the unholy lake. Then it's like "whiskey and chicks and fuck everybody else."

I want some lakes, burning churches and Reapers running in the woods, Satan worshipping, northern lights, teenagers with knives, demons... anything with mythological horror feel that builds on the original vision. When you think of RRF musically, the artwork couldn't have been any better. Bet when you let the music and artwork collaborate, I'd have a lake in the background instead of a city, first of all... I wouldn't mind if the next artwork was black-purple and included the Reaper presenting the passage to the other side revealed in a burning Lake Bodom in the shadows of trees. I'd love something symbolic and mythological like this, but that's just my taste and you may all disagree. I love iconic artworks on cult-CD's that are suitable even for tattoos.

Yeah, I used to, before I realised that it was a total loonhouse! I'm a huge fan of the old stuff at least.

I never listened to Guns n Roses but I heard they only made one good album (the 1st) and never managed to put together a good album since.

Never liked Pistols N' Posies.

To everything else that was posted since that conversation.... *sigh*

Well, not you sleeper, mostly just the typical Joonas rant.
