Did you have a Nu-Metal phase?

Of course. Metallica and Slipknot were always my favorite bands when I was like 12 and 13. I listened to your other standard numetal bands but I also listened to bands like In Flames, Dimmu Borgir, Pantera, Megadeth, and other introduction type bands. At least my early tastes were more metal oriented than most people's; I was never into stuff like Godsmack, Disturbed, Linkin Park, or Limp Bizkit.

Then I discovered the wonder of online metal forums, and was introduced to real metal.

Probably not. I used to say similar things, then I branched off from metal for a while and began listening to lots of different genres. I appreciate them all much more now.

I had a slight nu-metal phrase, though I was really only into Slipknot and some of Korn's stuff. I liked mostly metalcore/screamo back in my pre-metalhead days.

well in my case it was hardcore punk, the real stuff. Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat.

I think I'm a few years too old to have gone through a nu-metal phase.
