I'm gonna give this a listen when I get home.. I'm starting to think I need to redo the solos for this and "Stars"... but I can't remember what I even played on this one, got a new guitar though, and it plays a little smoother..
Here it is - reamped with 5150 combo. The lead (that thing playing along with Hammond) is not reamped because I somehow misplaced it... It's pretty similar anyway, that's because I've used the same impulse. I've fixed some minor things as well.
There's a light limiter on the mp3 version, no mastering eq apart from highpass. Jevo's solos only.
@Rip-G, IMO guitar sound is a bit weak, but that's a personal taste, so I asked in the general Dio tribute thread the opinion of other users.
@Paulie: I do not own my own studio and I borrow it from time to time, so it is impossible for me to reamp your tracks in the next days. If finally people thinks Rip-G's mix is better, then you can talk to him to reamp your new solo.
I prefer Rip-G's overall. Much more interesting vocally, I really like what you did with panning. And the drums sounds better in my opinion.
The rythmtone is not as good as Jevils though, way too middy and slightly undergained.
Perhaps give Jevils reamped rythmguitars a try in Rip-G's mix?
After listening to Jevil's 2nd solo, I'm thinking go with that and leave mine out, I've got more than enough guitar on this tribute album... if you guys are cool with that, I think Jevil did a much better job than I did.
Both mixes are nice, but after comparing I personally like the Jevo's mix more, it reminds me much of the 80's metal, like Rising Force or something. It's ambient, epic and vintage.
