Dio Tribute "We're Stars" Song Discussion

Gentelmen!

Since we basically only have drums done I think now is actually a good time to talk about tuning. Anyone have any preferences. My original version was just in standard, but I can do half down as well. Vocally for me of course half step is better but its up to you guys I can make it work either way.

I was planning on tracking guitars tonight.

I think we should really have even more people (than just the 5 "lead vox" guys) sing choruses and send them in... Just to get that uber huge group o' people effect you know?

I'm excited about this track, I hope we can get a bassist pretty soon!

In case you all still wind up needing the drums (I did see that a new one was put up recently). ...
I did this last night for the hell of it. This is just my drums over top of the original mp3.
I left the tempo steady for the fade and just repeated the same fill so it gets out of sync but doesn't really matter.
The mp3 was imported into cubase and drums done to tempo (which is not steady at all).
Midi mapped to EZdrummer. If it turns out you want this I'll provide the midi.
Good luck everyone.

I'll give the Shortino vox a shot.. I make no promises though

ok updated main post to the following -

Lead Vox - Guitarguru777 (Dio, DuBrow)
Lead Vox - Bormoleos Van Drill (Halford, Tate)
Lead Vox - superfreak (Meniketti, Bloom)
Lead Vox - Paulie! - (Dokken, Shortino)

Added something to Mr. Morton that I think his voice could handle easily ;)

I will have some scratch guitars over the new Drum / Bass track, and lay out the solo spots tonight!

To make it easier for everyone:

joeym (Ronnie James Dio, Kevin DuBrow)
Bormoleos Van Drill (Rob Halford, Geoff Tate)
superfreak (Dave Meniketti, Eric Bloom)
Paulie! (Don Dokken, Paul Shortino)

[Ronnie James Dio]
Who cries for the children?
I do

[Dave Meniketti]
Some time in the night
When you're feeling the cold

[Ronnie James Dio]
Take a look at the sky above you

[Rob Halford]
Those are faces in the light
If the story were told

[Ronnie James Dio]
They are calling you, calling you
Yeah
We are magic in the night

[Kevin DuBrow]
We are shadow, we are light

[Dave Meniketti]
We are forever you and I

[Chorus]
We're stars x2

[Eric Bloom]
We can be strong
We are fire and stone

[Paul Shortino]
And we all want to touch a rainbow

[Geoff Tate]
But singers and songs
Will never change it alone
We are calling you, calling you

[Don Dokken]
We're the beating of a heart
The beginning we're the start

[Paul Shortino]
Forever we will shine
Yeah

[Chorus]
We're stars x4

[Guitar solos]

[Kevin DuBrow]
We are magic in the night

[Rob Halford]
We are shadow, we are light

[Geoff Tate]
We are forever you and I

[Chorus]
We're stars x4

[Dave Meniketti]
We're stars, yeah
We are shadow, we are light
We are magic in the night
We're stars, oh yeah

[Geoff Tate]
We are magic in the night
We are shadow, we are light

[Rob Halford]
We're stars, we're the magic
We're stars

[Don Dokken]
We're the beating of a heart
Forever we will shine

I don't know the rest, it's hard to figure out when it's fading out... the rest can improvise.

Now....... I just need to find my epic vocal presetz.... :D

Gentelmen the drums have an extra 4 measures at the end of the solo I am cutting off. The chorus riff is only played once each go around during the solo not twice. Which makes up the difference :)

Scratch guitars and my scratch VOX coming up in a few minutes :)
