Expensive clothes

I dont have a problem with fitting into stuff (5'11 and 170 lbs) so I guess I'm quite lucky.
But I just got 3 pairs of straight-legged jeans for $40 at PacSun and they look damn nice.

And whats so bad about hanging shirts and ironing jeans? I do that regularly lol.

But I'll agree, clothes are wayyyyy too expensive.
I feel bad if I spend $15 on a concert tee.

I get the same problem with Hanes - every fucking package of white v-necks fits differently. Some have a deeper v, some have longer sleeves, some are shorter in the body... consistency for fucks sake!

Oddly enough, the only place I can find the Hanes-brand v-necks is Kohls. :loco:
Hanes is some of the cheapest shit you can find. I'm pretty sure that's part of the problem because quality control just isn't an issue if all you're looking it is $. Talking about the company perspective here of course.

Same goes for Fruit of the Loom imo.

Maybe look into Earth Positive. Their stuff is of decent quality and is being produced carbon neutral if any of you actually give a shit.

Oh and ditch the V-necks!

The only problem I have with Kohls, and it might not be all their fault, is that Levis in particular NEVER fit the same from pair to pair. Same size, same color, touching each other on the shelf and they fit totally different.

When I buy jeans online I usually have to order four of each kind I like just to get one pair that fits well. I lay them all out and take a tape measure to the waist, inseam, and leg opening width. Such a range of inconsistency, it drives me nuts. Old Navy can be bad at times, but Levis from JCPenney are the worst. Leg width swings of up to two inches from one pair to the next. Ridiculous.

I don't see any problem in paying $100 for a pair of jeans. The ones I buy last me 3+ years. I highly doubt a pair of $20 jeans would stay together that long.

i never pay more than like $35-40 for a pair of jeans, and have some pairs that are 6-7 years old

it's not like jeans ever fall apart, unless they're some somer-cheap walmart bullshit that runs you $10. the only problem i've ever had is wearing holes through the knees now and in pairs that i work in, but that has nothing to do with the brand...denim is denim is fucking denim

You spend $40 on jeans?? What's that.. like...25 30 quid...

Fuck. I get pissed if I have to spend more than a tenner on jeans. I don't mind looking like a tramp. I've got a bitch who sucks my dick. Who do I need to impress... ??

Hells yeah

Most I've spent on jeans is £35, it hurt haha. Everything else like t-shirts, i don't like spending more than £5-10 each, shoes are different, i always get converse high-tops for £40 :D but jeans and shit, no more than £15-25 normally, i don't give a fucking shit if i'm not wearing designer fucking crap.

This ^^^

Jeans should last years, I make mine last a good few years, its holes and plain damage that ruins them :D And the fact i love KFC and i'm getting fatter and can't fit in my old pair no more

]After all, I'll buy Levis and saucony's instead of Walmart jeans and Payless shoes.
Buying things you can't afford is different of course.

Yeah me too, but that's because the one time I decided "hey fuck it these look alright" at wal mart for some shorts the zipper took a shit in literally 3 days.

In other words, there is a little bit of a difference between total crap and stuff that is ok.

But I'm in agreeance for the most part, a t shirt is a fucking t shirt.

They generally last longer. Especially in the case of shoes maybe excluding some cheaper boots I've seen. Hell I shop at Academy for most of my clothing, except of course the metal t shirts, that's reserved for the local mom & pop record shop, Encore. Just got a pair of pretty nice cargos the other day for 13 bones. A nice black button up is cool once in a while, last one I got ran around 35 bucks. anyway yeah. cool story bro.

I'm telling ya, try on a pair off David Bitton's and you'll never buy another brand of jeans. Well worth it for me.

Same with jeans, my $40 Levis have always fit me well and lasted for years.

$40 Levis = $120 Levis here. Despite the dollar, it costs $80 to ship a pair of jeans here, even in bulk!

I met a guy from America in one of my uni classes.. he was wearing a tshirt that here would cost.. $30-40. He got it for $2. He was pretty amazed/outraged at our prices in regards to everything.

I know all about this. Nothing fits me off the rack. If you actually have a body that is the proportions that society tells are desirable (broad shoulders and neck, thin waist etc) no suit will fit you unless tailor made.

I don't think Chryst (mental blank on your real name) has an issue with narrow shoulders XD And seriously - society tells you that broad shoulders and thin waists are desirable? It's nothing to do with being healthy or evolutionarily favourable?

Oh and ditch the V-necks!

<3 V-necks.

I saw a gym shirt, whatever you call it, the wifebeater but with even bigger holes and looser. No-one wears these outside of the gym.
$80.
On sale.
Wtf?
Then there's another for $12 right next to it, looks better except it goes down to your knees.

For anyone in Australia, I recommend yd. They've got some really good clothes at fairly cheap prices. Some of the tshirts are pretty fucking gay though.

I was gonna start a thread similar to this but i thought it was too gay ehehhe

Anyway, I don't buy dirt cheap stuff because it often fits me weirdly. My body is kinda weird (short arms, short body, big head, no shoulders at all ehheeh), so a lot of stuff doesn't fit nicely. The thing is, I am broke as fuck, so my clothes look old and bad :s I try to, when I buy things, spend nicely so it lasts.

Btw, i have 10yo clothes eheh

I don't really understand you guys that have said "cheap stuff doesn't fit me properly" like they deliberately design the clothes to fit the elephant man.

So a shirt that costs £10 might not fit you, but a £40 definitely will? I reckon you stand a better chance of buying 4 different £10 shirts, since they all vary so much anyway regardless of cost.

That said, when I was a teen, I was definitely all about the expensive clothes at school. It's stupid looking back on it, but I was one of the rich kids, and back then it mattered. I had this £180 snowboarding jacket which my bro borrowed and left in the back of his car. His gf threw a cigarette "out" the window, which actually landed on the jacket and burnt a hole in it. It was only a month old! lol. He'd parked his car right next to the house too, so if that thing weren't flame retardent she could've burned our whole fucking house down too.

These days, I'm all for the bargains. I like looking at clearance sales online and snapping up as many clothes as I can for my buck. Not cheap shit, but yeah, it's fucked up to pay £80 for a shirt when it literally cost a few pennies to make. Same goes with sunglasses. It's fucking plastic!
