According to M-A (which is back up!), there are 7 metal bands from Sri Lanka.

Finland all the way. I can not believe the amount of amazing music that comes out of that country.

I actually voted for Finland but I thought Greece should have an honorable mention.

It was a really tough choice between England and USA. England has the whole NWOBHM thing going for it and probably my favourite doom and sludge scene, but in the end the dominance of US bands in brutal death and suicidal black metal made my mind up.
France were my third choice.
