From what I can gather, the raw materials wouldn't cost very much, it's more the tools that run up the price. But nevertheless, I might just have a go at knocking something up with a sander, a hammer, a saw and some woodglue Wiring also seems like a bitch however, and I'd probably need a soldering iron...

I just meant getting hold of the iron and the actual solder might be a little expensive/difficult. But I'm still gonna try and make one, just need to find me some decent woods and order the electronics and paints and I can get cracking.
