GMD Poll: Black Sabbath’s Discography Ranked

I can see a case for top-five. But saying it's the best Sabbath is just... it doesn't compute.

Title track, Turn To Stone, and Heart Like a Wheel are worth more than your life.

How can you love the Seventh Star title track and not Dio Sabbath?

Those other two are two of three songs I consider good, though.

I don't agree with H&H at #1 but I respect it. Dio is probably objectively a better singer, but Ozzy's is the voice of metal to me, attached to it at an early age and it just works man.

Dio's voice is definitely more typically metal or more similar to what became normal metal vocals so I don't understand that at all, but I love Ozzy's vocals, especially as a massive doom metal fan.

H&H is awesome in its own right, but it's not even the best Dio fronted album, let alone the best Sabbath

i meant dio fronted Sabbath. sorry

sadly, ive never ventured beyond Dio Sabbath. I need to hear his solo outings

Computes for me without much effort at all. Combining the glorious riffs of Iommi with the glorious vocals of the greatest heavy metal singer of all time? Gold.
I dunno, I just reeeeally think that Heaven and Hell doesn't do anything SBS or Sabotage don't do better.

H&H is a great album but now that I think of it, the feel is more rock than the early ozzy albums. H&H is so radio friendly and sing songy while something like vol 4 or SBS feels more like true metal, to me. It's dark and the lyrics make you think about the state of the world. Better guitar riffs too.

that is precisely one of the reasons i prefer Dehumanizer. it upped the metal while retaining strong song writing

as far as Glenn Hughes goes, the Iommi album Fused is much better than Seventh Star. much better songs
