GMD Poll: Sodom's Discography Ranked

Yeah I don't want to start including every demo and EP every band we releases. However, if there are certain ones that are highly influential, I'm good with adding them.
tbh thats totally up to the listener. You(or a few of us) cant just decide which EP's to include and which ones not to. If you're going to include EPs then they should be allowed to be listed here. That being said i agree that the two main EP's are the most important ones in their dicogs.

Also, Haunting the Chapel is imo the greatest thrash EP of all time and i dont think we included it in the Slayer list.

I thought the single and the live recordings we're well done. Is it a cash grab? Yeah. Is the product quality at least? Yeah.

they can say what they want, "these were meant to be on the original" etc .... but it's a re-recording of In the Sing of Evil with some extras thrown in. Just because they call it an album to rake in money doesn't make it an album, just like how one new track with some bonus materiel doesnt really make Sacred Warpath an EP

I mean, okay, but you also can say whatever you want. There are more "new" tracks on that record than there are re-recordings and the whole thing is basically a re-recording of what they say should have been the In the Sign of Evil full length. Furthermore they didn't just throw all the In the Sign of Evil EP tracks on the front or back and then tack new songs on, the tracklisting is shuffled around in a way which implies some thought went into the flow of the record.

I don't see how that's a compilation. It's also not really comparable to a literal single new song with a bunch of live tracks tacked on to make it an EP rather than a single/flexi disc.

If a band records their debut album and half of the tracks are re-recordings of old demo tracks, does that make their album a compilation? Is Blessed Are the Sick 30% a compilation because they used like 3 old demo tunes?

doesn't need to be "already recorded" but i really dont give a shit what you think about a recording that you probably have never heard before in your life or once at most. You're probably one of the same people who thought First Strike Still Deadly form Testament wasn't a compilation either.

you're comparing demos to EP's and albums?

Maybe Sacred Warpath isn't even quite an EP, but it is a release that's better than many of their releases, however you want to label it. I ask myself "what is the likelihood that I will/would buy X release before Y, Z, etc release." That's how I judge it.

What part of that confused you so much that you would need me to explain it?

because it is compiled of older songs from their official catalogue. Not demos since you know, demos aren't officially released.

its as much of an album as Sacred Warpath is an EP.

Compilations require material from multiple sources, this is why I'm "confused" because you're treating 'compilation' as if you get to ignore its official definition and just go by your own. The Final Sign of Evil contains material from one source; the recording sessions for that EP.

Also there are several albums made up by a chunk of EP material, there are even full lengths that contain re-recordings of songs from prior full lengths.
