YOU'RE DELUDED BRO!
Also, that's pretty hilarious considering who it's coming from.
Says the guy with the Secrets of the Moon avatar.
Well hybrid like 'doom/death' because diSEMBOWELMENT comes to mindI think Doom is worthy of its own thread.
Yeah 'hybrids' would be confusing. I like the idea of an 'Other' topic, but just don't say hybrids imo. Stuff like thrash/death has already been covered by the thrash and death threads.
Oh and:
Thrash
Trad
Doom
Death
Black
I agree with this with a minor reservation. I'd say there are a few trad.- and doom metal albums who also accomplish masterfully everything you list here and have the same (or similar) artistic merit as the most accomplished works of black metal. It's a question of values. I really value total works of art and black metal tends to produce the most cohesive records where aesthetics, lyrics, ideology and sound unify into a total work of art. Black metal also strives to communicate the depths of the human condition and metaphysical reality in a way that I rarely find in other genres. That would be the reason I consider black metal superior to the other genres. It aims the highest, so when it hits the mark, it creates the truest and most pure works of art.
I guess so. I can relate to why many would not consider it black metal but I was under the impression it was generally accepted as part of the second wave along with Master's Hammer. I could be wrong though. So I've seen a few votes for Root - The Temple in the Underworld. I have the album and personally really like it, but how is this black metal? By association?
All this prooves why black metal is the best genre. There's literally 100s of records being listed. So may bands have managed to make records that resonate within this genre.
Or it just proves that this board is infested with BM-fellating WIMPS that have listened to all the obscure atmogaze black metal acts in existence while remaining ignorant of any non-big 4/Teutonic trio thrash.
