How did you choose your username?

Since I went back to this name, I chose it because it's short and sounds cool.

Every time you post something I imagine it as an omni verse. Because that sounds cool. And I greatly look forward to the day you're hyper about something for once.

Giggity.

I don't think that I ever get hyper about anything. I have pretty subdued emotions and I naturally look, act and talk in a way that causes people to be unable to determine my mood or whether I'm being serious about things. I've always been that way.

I've had this name for over ten years now. Not on this website (obviously because I haven't been here for that many years) but for whatever forum and social media from when I was about 14-15. Funerary_Doom across the web. Picked it because it melded funeral doom together in a cool way.

Yeah I remember you used to get super heated in debates here (well, I know you weren't, but the writing style seemed it). Now you've really calmed down.

I chose my name on here cause I was completely enamoured with 'Down Among The Deadmen' when I joined up on here. It didn't have anything to do with Maiden 'Killers' rather just a reference to the killer songs TLWSF put out on that album.

I'm glad that you clarified that. I always wondered which of these two origin stories led to your name. I had considered either one to be a possibility.

I came up with mine when I joined my first forum. It was a psytrance forum and myself and my mates who had gotten into psytrance couldn't stand the fucking hippies so it had to be something satanic. I don't know where toenail came from or why. I was possibly under the influence of something at the time. I remember typing it out with no gap or apostrophe and I thought it looked cool.

Not sure why I picked it, but I started using it when I played QuakeWorld back in 98-99 and it stuck. It means "The Savage" or "The Wild (one)" in swedish.
The annoying thing is that nowdays some CS-pro use the same nick and I get people who rant about how I stole it from him. : (

Show them your join date here or on other websites. I have a feeling that he lacks your longevity with that name.

Belenos song on Spicilège. Used to be extremely into them way back and despite the song really being a nothing interlude track I liked the name since it translates into divine death.

To be fair I chose it when I was like 16...and it remains better than my two previous account names (Souls Highway and Ex-Cally-Boo...)

All of those provide a significant contribution. Dak was from my like 18th year and literally meaningless. I'll probably be Dak to most people but current is current and infinitely deeper.

I read about a Norwegian executioner back in the 1800`s by the name Samson Isberg. In those days if you were sentenced to death by the court you could choose to rather take on the job of executions. Samson volentered to do this job, and took pride in decapitating with only one blow of the axe. Most executioners used to get drunk before doing the deed, and often missed and made a bloody mess. Samson "if i remembered correctly" used to drink a glass of milk, and did all his executions sober.

The person Samson Isberg fascinated me and i have used Isberg as username on all forums, game characters etc since then.

I got my name from this, watch the first 5 seconds.

I'm actually not a big fan of the band, but Tsuyama Atsushi is a legend and he chose all Celtic music on this video and that's one of my favourite styles of music.

First gaelic word that came to mind.

Though i remembered it as meaning spirit and i'm pretty sure it means something like law or petition.

Off the top, pretty sure it means reference or something like that.
